GM OnStar: Your Link to Safety and Better Driving

OnStar is a safety-driven feature in many vehicles on the road today. With over 20 years of assisting drivers, it connects subscribers with help in the event of a collision, breakdown, vehicle theft, and more. Emergencies aren’t planned, and you can’t choose the emergency that happens. OnStar offers peace of mind no matter how long or short your trip, wherever it may be.

OnStar activates with a press of an emergency button that puts you in contact with an Emergency-certified OnStar Advisor. In some cases, OnStar contacts the Advisor automatically.

OnStar’s Helpful Safety and Security Plans

Although most features start with a press of the Onstar button, the Automatic Crash Response (ACR) service instantly activates when sensors detect a collision. There may be instances when the OnStar button is not accessible, so the system reduces precious time in contacting an Advisor on its own. Once in contact, the Advisor will determine your location and call emergency services to assist.

If your vehicle is ever stolen, OnStar’s Stolen Vehicle Assistance feature will use GPS to assist local authorities in locating and recovering your vehicle.

Road trips rarely involve vehicle mishaps, but when they do, OnStar’s Roadside Assistance feature will help. Whether you experience a stalled engine, flat tire, or other breakdown, an Advisor will find and dispatch a local recovery service that can help you get back on the road safely.

With today’s climate extremes, natural threats, and other crisis events, it’s comforting to have back-up in case you experience any of them on a trip. The Crisis Assist feature connects you to an Advisor who will help you find safer routing, accommodations, or other remedies during any of these emergencies.

OnStar’s Technological Connected Services Plans

OnStar offers several plans that help you monitor the health of your vehicle and take advantage of several other convenience technologies.

When you want to stay informed about the health of your vehicle and stay ahead of potential issues, the Connected Access Plan with help. This includes a monthly Diagnostics Report and Vehicle Alerts that provide a breakdown of important performance information.

The Remote Access Plan adds Remote Key Fob with your remote app, On-Demand Diagnostics with Advisor support, Vehicle Locate, Send-to-Navigation, and more.

The Premium Access Plan includes all other services and adds a navigation suite with monthly data and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Come and see us at the dealership to know everything about OnStar services and how they can help you keep safe on the road.
