The 2019 Chevy Silverado: Haul Like a Pro
October 01 2019, Lussier Chevrolet Buick GMC
There is a reason the Silverado has been an important part of the truck landscape for several decades: Innovation. The 2019 model year continues this tradition with better power, improved gas mileage, increased capacities, and more. Eight trims comprise the model lineup for 2019, including the Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTE, and High Country.
The 2019 Chevy Silverado’s Exterior Is Built for Loads, Roads, and the Trail
Whether you’re in town, on the highway, at the worksite or on the trail, the Silverado’s exterior is ready for any trip. The available Z71 Off-road Equipment Package upgrades most models. However, it is standard on Trail Boss models which also sport a factory-installed 2-inch lifted suspension and Rancho monotube shocks and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires.
The Z71 package is designed for those who want more out of their truck. It is comprised of Rancho shocks, electronic hill descent control, two-speed transfer case and automatic locking rear differential, skid plates for engine oil pan and transfer-case protection, heavy-duty air filter, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and dual exhaust outlets for models equipped with V-8 engines.
There Are Plenty of Engine Options for the 2019 Chevy Silverado
The Silverado raises the bar for 2019 with several improved engines. The LT now boasts a 2.7L Turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 310 horsepower with 348 lb-ft of torque. The full-featured High Country now includes a 5.3L V-8 that boosts horsepower to 355 while earning an efficient fuel consumption rating of 14.1 L/ 100 km in the city and 10.2 L/100 km on the highway.
Other available power plants include a 4.3L V6 with 305 horsepower that offers a maximum of 3,629 kilograms of towing capacity, representing an increase of 181 kilograms (regular cab, rear-wheel-drive models). A 6.2L V-8, equipped with the Max Towing Package, now delivers a maximum of 5,534 kilograms of towing, up 227 kilograms from the previous model.
Although the Silverado is impressive on the outside and under the hood, you’ll find plenty of safety technologies integrated with the comfortable interior. The available Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert and Following Distance Indicator Front and Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and more protects you and your passengers.
